ABOUT ME

The concept of Involve Gardens was conceived while I was on a 2.5 year hiatus from Australia, living in a small town named Le Chable, Switzerland.

It was here I witnessed a part of gardening that almost every household took part in, the production of herbs, fruit and vegetables. I was living in a relatively rural part of Switzerland, but the participation of this pastime really struck a chord. In Switzerland, the Swiss can only work their garden for around 6 months of the year due to the snow in winter, but at home in Sydney, we could do this year round. It was time for Sydney siders to Get Involved in their gardens and at the same time, have their gardens provide for them, and even others!

Something in Sydney we are all a part of is the continuous rush from one activity, job, child drop off or meeting to another. Life runs at such a hectic pace for so many of us, what will it take to slow us down? My hope is that the answer is just outside in your garden. And this garden doesn’t have to be much, it could be part of a community garden, some pots on your apartment balcony, a window ledge or even on a rooftop or WALL! Time spent in the garden should not be seen as ‘work’. Your garden should be where you Get Involved with nature. A time for you to slow down for what may be as little as 10 minutes a week. Tending to your garden, no matter what size is, is not only enjoyable, but rewarding.

My name is Nick Mason and I am nearing 20 years of industry experience. I have a passion for all things plants and what they can do to a space. I am a Horticulturalist, a Garden Designer, a Project Manager and an accomplished and proud Landscaper. Having worked on and managed hundreds of landscape projects from minimal to extravagant sizes and budgets, I pride myself on clear communication and an eye for detail and functionality. I work only to a high standard, and these standards will never be compromised.

I hope you join me on the journey of helping you and others Get Involved in their own gardening adventure. Designing, constructing, planting, producing, propagating, transplanting, pruning, nurturing, sharing. Creating spaces indoors or outdoors for these wonderful plants to thrive. The plants you decide to grow may be for produce, they may be for their colour, fragrance or growing habit, they could be highly maintained or require little to no maintenance at all, the possibilities are endless.

Join me, GET INVOLVED.
